With us, you’ll find everything under one roof.
We provide you with quality at every level, from product development to the finished connector:
  • Stamping
  • Plastic injection molding
  • Surface coating
  • Assembly
  • Tool making

Stamping

Stamped contacts are made in our stamping workshop using machines that we develop and produce ourselves. This not only guarantees maximum profitability and flexibility, but also enables us to monitor the quality of all aspects of the stamping process.
Our goal is to achieve the perfect balance between tool and machine.

Our highly qualified employees work at our international locations on our specially developed presses and automatic punching machines. This enables us to stamp many billions of parts worldwide every year.

Technologies:
  • Stamping
  • Bending, separating
  • In-line camera surveillance (AIO)
  • Quality inspection during series production with CAQ

Plastic injection molding

Plastic injection molding
Our metal-plastic composite products are used in ABS, ESP, and transmission control technology.
Our products can already be found in a large number of control units such as airbags, seats, or transmission controls.
We are specialized in the production of innovative connectors made from metal and plastic. The insulation and plastic parts required are produced using a variety of injection molding machines with different levels of automation, depending on what requirements the product imposes on the processes. As part of this, we have specialized in the production of plastics using thermoplastics such as PBT, LCP, PA, PPS, or PC. Our machine park is home to more than 30 injection molding machines, which use clamping forces ranging from 600 to 2,000 kN. Several hundred tons of granulate are processed in total each year. We offer a range of insulator materials with a shot weight of 0.3 to 170 g – flexibly adaptable to your requirements and ideas, of course.
Our production process is highly automated for the most part.

Technologies:
  • Conventional injection molding (free-falling or palletized)
  • Overmolded parts (hybrid parts)
  • Tape overmolding (reel-to-reel)
  • Quality inspection during series production with CAQ

Strip electroplating

We can offer a broad spectrum of ultra-modern galvanic coating processes.
We operate six strip-plating lines at two of our locations. Different coating processes enable a variety of surfaces and surface combinations (such as Sn, Ni, SnPb, AU, PdNi, NiP, In, and AgSn) in a wide range of coating thicknesses on different materials (such as CuSn4, CuSn6, CuNiSi, and so on). Our expertise in electroplating is complemented by our in-house electroplating laboratory and state-of-the-art testing technology. International customers from the automotive, telecommunications, and medical technology industries already appreciate the quality of our coatings.

We operate a total of six strip-processing lines at our Peiting and Augsburg locations in Germany.
Surface coatings on the connection side:
  • Nickel
  • Tin
  • Tin-lead
  • Indium
  • Silver-tin
Surface coatings in the mating area:
  • Gold
  • Tin
  • Tin-lead
  • Nickel-phosphorous
  • Palladium

Manual assembly and partially or fully automated assembly

Connectors are assembled using machines and equipment we develop and build ourselves. This enables us to assemble several hundred thousand connectors within one week. You can also benefit from our flexibility in assembly: we can assemble connectors customized especially according to your specifications without any additional effort. Our universal assembly lines offer you the advantage of fast throughput times thanks to the low retooling times, among other things. And of course, we also have in-line inspection systems, not to mention automatic printing/labeling and packing.

Technologies:
  • Vertical and horizontal assembly
  • Special assembly
  • In-line inspection systems
  • Automatic printing
  • Automatic packing in tubes or blister packs

Equipment Manufacture

The ept Equipment Manufacture combines a wide range of expertise such as development, design, tool and machine construction, as well as control and regulation technology with programming and electrical assembly at its Buching and Peiting locations.

The extensive range of expertise – combined with ept’s internal product and process development and the immediate proximity to production – are the cornerstones of ept’s connector manufacturing and its very high level of vertical integration.
This enables us as a company to achieve the greatest possible level of independence from external suppliers or service providers.
Departments that are upstream in the project can draw on the in-house equipment manufacture expertise during the product development and planning of the operating equipment. Equipment manufacture is also the first point of contact for production support and the extensive services required for this.

The ept Equipment Manufacture is partner for
  • the creation of quotes for tools and machines,
  • feasibility studies and concept development,
  • the design and implementation of innovation production solutions.
